The Royal Tenenbaums in Print

“What characters? This is a bunch of little kids dressed up in animal costumes.”

family is a many-splendored thing… well, it’s definitely *a* thing, anyhow.

in honor of The Royal Tenenbaums’ impending blu-ray release, the folks over at Criterion assembled a gallery of the books and magazine covers that appear in the film.

Dora the Explorer Movie Trailer (with Ariel Winter)

The “Modern Family” star breaks skills and language barriers.

Before leaving CollegeHumor, I wrote this with Ben Joseph. While writing it, Ben asked if I cared if he ate the dirt under his fingernails while we worked.

Reply from Senator Sherrod Brown

I sent my senator an email about my growing concern for a free and open internet, because it could challenge my job as a web designer.

In conclusion this tells me nothing. I just hope he opposes it.

Dear Scott:
Thank you for sharing your concerns with the government’s cyber security efforts and our First and Fourth Amendments.

While much has been done to protect our country from cyber terrorism, we still face significant vulnerabilities in critical infrastructure such as electronic banking, air traffic control, basic utilities, and telecommunications services.

The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act is designed to address the questions of sharing cyber threat intelligence. It also calls for a Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board to submit reports annually to Congress recommending improvements and modifications to address privacy and civil liberties concerns.

I have heard from some individuals concerned that this bill could infringe on their civil liberties. Your concerns regarding the sharing of personal information between private companies and the National Security Agency, are worthy of close inspection. While I support efforts to protect our nation from terrorism, I agree that it is important that such efforts do not compromise our civil liberties and constitutional rights.

Should legislation be introduced in the 112th Congress, I will keep your views in mind.  Thank you again for getting in touch with me.
Sincerely,
 Sherrod Brown
United States Senator”
